This year’s event will be held on Saturday October 8, 2011 at Hawken School’s Walton Stadium, located at 12465 County Line Road, Chesterland.

The teams are paired up on the field to show their talents, have some fun and reach out and make a difference in the lives of others in the community

How Can I Purchase Tickets / Attend? (100% Of Ticket Sales Goes To The Charity)

Tickets will be available in advance at all Burning River events, by contacting Burning River at 216.373.5684 or on the day of the event. 

• Tickets are - $5 in advance and $8 the day of the event ($5 if wearing a pink event T-shirt).

In addition to ticket sales, we will also be selling specially design shorts (our BR/Chipotle shorts) and T-shirts (new pink design) with

All proceeds from the clothing sales will be donated to the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research.

What Is The Stefanie Spielman Foundation?

The Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute is a foundation devoted to advancing research in breast cancer. The fund supports laboratory discoveries that are being translated into effective treatments and new drugs for breast cancer patients, as well as other research. Since 1999, more than $8.5 million has been raised.

Currently, the fund is focused on supporting the following areas: Cancer Imaging (targeted molecular pharmaceuticals for imaging and therapy of cancer), New Drug Development (treatment and cure), and Tissue Archiving Services (allows for promising genes/ proteins to be quickly tested for their importance and relevance).

2011 Fundraiser's Goals And How You Can Help

This year's team goals are to raise $10,000 and sell 1,000 tickets. This year's current fundraising total is approximately $2,000.

There are many ways to help us raise money and get the word out to local and national newspaper, television, and radio outlets about the Breast Cancer Research Lacrosse Fundraiser To Benefit The Stefanie Spielman Fund and its efforts to help those struggling with breast cancer and their families during their time of need. You can:

Donation
You can make a tax deductible monetary donation (even a few pennies help) to help us reach our goal of raising $10,000 to help those struggling with breast cancer and their families during their time of need.  The Stefanie Spielman Fund is recognized by the IRS as a valid 501(c) (3) organization. Click on the link to donate

Once on the page, enter in the amount you would like to donate and then click “Complete Your Gift.” On the next page you can confirm that the amount you would like to donate is correct and select the option “This Gift is in Honor of Someone.” Please fill out the top line, making the donation in honor of Burning River, so that we have an idea of how much we were able to raise.

Event Gear
We will be selling specially designed shorts for $40 (our BR/Chipotle shorts) and T-shirts for $10 (new pink design) with all the proceeds from the clothing sales being donated to Breast Cancer Research.

Endorsement
Do you have a family member, friend, or neighbor that knows a local celebrity (sports, news, political, etc) that you could speak to about helping with the event? It could be anything from raffle items, to website/twitter support, to an appearance at the event.

Social Networking
You can put the event information on your Facebook, MySpace or LinkedIn account pages. You can send the event information to family, friends, neighbors. Do you/someone you know belong to an Alumni association that you could forward the information to? Do you/someone you know belong to a local group that might be willing to send the information to its members (Kiwanis, Optimist Club, etc.)

Publicity
Do you have a family member, friend, neighbor, coworker with contacts at local media outlets? If so would you be willing to contact them about doing a story on the event? 

Volunteer
You can donate your time and effort to help ensure a quality event. To that end we need people to help with the following: ticket takers, parking, t-shirt / short sales, field preparation, ball boys and scoring.

Attend The Event
We would be excited to have you, your family, friends and neighbors attend the Fundraiser and provide encouragement and support to the players. Our goal is to sell 1,000 tickets.  Please come see one or all of the games.
