2013 Breast Cancer Research Lacrosse Fundraiser To Benefit The Stefanie Spielman Fund
For the last four years (2010, 2011, 2012. 2013) Burning River Lacrosse has team up with local companies to host the College Lacrosse Showcase for Breast Cancer Research. The event raises money for the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute.
This fund supports laboratory discoveries that are being translated into effective treatments and new drugs for breast cancer patients, as well as other research. Since 1999 the fund has raised more than $8.5 million.
In 2012 the event raised over $15,500 for this cause. In 2011, the event raised over $13,000 for this cause.
