At Burning River our coaches are our greatest asset. It is their passion, knowledge and focus on putting our players first that has allowed us to grow from 3 coaches and 11 players to be become Ohio’s leader in lacrosse training and one of the top lacrosse clubs in the nation.  It is our coaches knowledge, ability to simply explain the fundamentals, belief in high reps with immediate feedback, and hands on instruction that has allowed us to create our unique offerings that provide the best instruction and results possible.

Our coaches are some of the area’s top college coaches, high school coaches, college players (BR Alumni) and high school players (BR players).  Our coaches are focused on the goal of improving our player’s individual / fundamental stick skills, positional skill set (Attack, Midfield, Defense and Goaltending), and understanding of team concepts (Transition and Set Piece Offense and Defense) play.  They do this by spending the vast majority of our coaching time teaching techniques and fundamentals in individual or small group sessions.

Kiersten Foust  - Girls Summer Program Director 

Burning River Lacrosse is excited to announce the hiring of Kiersten Foust as the Girls' Summer Director. Foust brings a wealth of experience and passion for the game, both as a player and a coach, and will play a vital role in leading and developing the next generation of female lacrosse athletes.

Foust currently serves as an Assistant Lacrosse Coach at Youngstown State University and has spent the past six years coaching at Nike Lacrosse Camp. She previously worked as an assistant coach at Converse University, where she helped guide the team to the Conference Carolinas Tournament for the first time since 2019, leading the draw control unit to a conference-best 14.6 draw controls per game in 2023. A standout collegiate player at Mars Hill University, Foust finished her career with 154 goals, 25 assists, 179 points, and 132 draw controls. Her impressive playing career earned her All-SAC Honorable Mention honors as a sophomore. Additionally, she brings valuable creative and leadership experience from her role as Director of Creative Services for the Southern Conference. Burning River Lacrosse is thrilled to welcome Foust to the team as she looks to help elevate the program and empower young female athletes this summer.

Isabella Robatin - Coach

A former standout player and current assistant coach at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School, Isabella brings a wealth of experience and passion to the program. She was a four-year letter winner at Brecksville, serving as team captain during the 2019-2020 season and earning the prestigious Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award in 2020. Isabella went on to play collegiate lacrosse for four years at the University of Mount Union, further honing her skills and knowledge of the game.

Isabella's impressive background and deep understanding of the sport make her a valuable asset in developing the next generation of lacrosse players.

Abby Reagan - Coach

Abby Reagan is a junior goaltender at the University of Mount Union, where she continues to showcase her exceptional talent and leadership on the field. Before joining Mount Union, Abby built an impressive legacy at St. Francis DeSales, earning recognition as one of the top high school goaltenders in the region. A four-year letter winner and two-time team captain, she played a pivotal role in her team’s success.

Throughout her high school career, Abby’s outstanding performance earned her numerous accolades, including: Division II Goal Keeper of the Year, First Team Division II All-State, Regional Player of the Year and First Team All-Region.

Sofia Durfee - Coach

Sofia brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to developing lacrosse talent in the Northern Ohio community.

A Uniontown, Ohio native, Sofia is currently a midfielder for The College of Wooster women's lacrosse team. She graduated from Green High School, where she excelled in both lacrosse and soccer.

 

Emma Patton - Coach

Emma's extensive experience as both a player and coach will be invaluable in fostering the development of our athletes.

A native of Avon Lake, Ohio, Emma Patton is currently a junior midfielder at Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts. In the 2024 season, she started all 18 games, recording 39 goals and 10 assists, earning All-Commonwealth Coast Conference Second Team honors.  In 2025, she recorded her 100 point and is on track to record her 100 goal.

Lela Plouse - Coach

Lela's experience as a collegiate player and her commitment to the sport make her a valuable addition to our program.

A native of Akron, Ohio, Lela Plouse is currently a freshman attack for the Malone University Pioneers. In the 2025 season, she has already made an impact, recording one goal and one assist in her debut game against Mount St. Joseph University.  Prior to her collegiate career, Lela was a standout player at Copley High School, where she contributed significantly to her team's success.

 

Hannah Clark Plain

Hannah Clark - Coach / Goalies

Burning River Lacrosse is excited to announce that Hannah Clark, a senior goalkeeper at Hudson High School, will join our girls' lacrosse coaching staff for the upcoming season. Hannah's leadership and experience will be invaluable assets to our program.

 

Hannah Clark is a dedicated goalkeeper for the Hudson High School girls' lacrosse team. In the 2024 season, she earned First Team All-Region League honors and was recognized as a Second Team All-State goalkeeper by the Ohio High School Girls Lacrosse Coaches Association. She was also nominated for the Akron Canton Play of the Year Award. Hannah is committed to play for Northern Michigan University Women's Lacrosse team.
