Faceoff Training With Coach Ameo

Anthony Ameo is a BR Alum (2014-17) and Coach.  He played his high school lacrosse at St. Ignatius (2015-18) and his collegian lacrosse at The Ohio State University (2019-2021).

During his time playing for Burning River / St. Ignatius he received the following awards:

  • Midwest Under Armour team 2017, 18
  • 3x 1st Team All Midwest
  • 2x King of the X at Can Am
  • 2x Ohio Faceoff Specialist of the Year
  • 2x 1st Team All Ohio
  • 2x HS All American

He holds all the St. Ignatius school faceoff records including going 17 and 4 in the state championship game in 2018.

Coach Ameo has been coaching with Burning River for over 7 years and as been on the sideline for numerous (10+) tournament championships.

Registration Opens:

  • September 29, 2023 for all BR Players and Families.
  • October 6, 2023 for everyone else.

Levels:

  • Level 1 - 4th to 8th grade. Beginner to moderate knowledge. Draw techniques, hand and body placement/footwork, hand speed drills, faceoff defense, live drills, etc.
  • Level 2 - 8th to 10th grade. Medium experience. Intermediate draw play, footwork/body positioning, hand speed drills, countermoves, wing and exit strategy, draw strategy, faceoff defense, live drills, etc.
  • Level 3 - HS Varsity level players. Advanced draw techniques, countermoves, hand speed drills, exit strategy, advanced wing play, advanced draw strategy, faceoff defense, live drills, etc.  Bonus rep it out session included.

Pricing: 

  • Single Sessions - $45 per session. (Now OPEN)
  • All Session Pass - $360 for all 10 sessions - Includes a $90 discount compared to purchasing them separately.

 

Dates: (Tuesday)

  • November 7, 14, 21, 28, 2023
  • December 5, 12, 19, 2023
  • January 2, 9, 16, 23, 2024
  • Make up date - January 30, 2024

 

Times:

  • Level 1 training session - 5:30 PM
  • Level 2 training session - 6:30 PM
  • Level 3 training session - 7:30 PM

 

Location:

  • The Edge located at 9550 Ravenna Rd, Twinsburg, OH 44087

 

Sample Session Plan:

  • FOGO - Attendance, Footwork Drills, Hand Speed Drills, 7 drills of standard to start, Focus 1 (e.g. def exits), live.
