Online Registration Is Now Open For Our Winter Supplemental Tryouts
For Summer of 2023 Travel Teams.
Our travel teams were founded in 2007 to showcase Northern Ohio lacrosse players who are highly skilled but also of high character. Unlike other travel teams that only accept coaches' recommendations, we hold tryouts so that every player with an interest can showcase his talent and make a case for making the team. As a result, our players are not primarily from 1 or 2 teams but are from numerous programs. In fact, our 2022 teams had players from over 50 Northern Ohio schools.
Note: Players never get a spot just because they attended the summer tryouts (e.g. only 2 goalies attend the summer tryouts so both make the team). Instead, players have to earn a spot by playing at the level needed, given the tournaments we attend. Therefore, we evaluate and select players year round. We have had players selected as late as May in some years. In addition, every year we have players we did not make the team in August, who make the team at a later tryout after they have worked to fix their weaknesses.
Available Teams: Maroon and White - Please click here to read about the difference in the two teams.

BR Travel Team and BR Player Awards
Parent Testimonial
“The importance of your Club Lacrosse team is immeasurable, especially in the NCAA recruiting process. When we talked to parents about our move back to Cleveland everyone in the lacrosse community was familiar with Burning River, the calibre of the teams they put together and the quality of events BR attended. As our son went through the process, sometimes playing with other local clubs that were closer to where we lived, it was clear that the Woody and his team drew coaches from some of the best schools and exposed all the players to the some of the best tournaments in the country—that other clubs were not doing. Our son loves playing for BR lacrosse. The friends he made and the enjoyment he received from playing on a talented team against talented competitors fueled his desire to play college lacrosse. I am particularly grateful for the support from the BR team off the field and the knowledge that was shared with us as we continue to go through the recruiting process has been invaluable. Finally, it doesn’t mater how good a player is, if you’re NOT at the right tournament the coaches will never see that player. This is what sets BR apart from other programs.” Elizabeth M.
